Spice Retail Limited has taken the lead and launched today the country’s first Firefox OS powered smartphone, Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1. This phone is priced at just Rs. 2,299/- and is targeted to the nearly 90 percent of the feature phone users wanting to switch to smartphones. The phone will be launched by Spice and Mozilla on August 29.

After Spice, the other Indian company, Intex is also launching Firefox OS powered smartphone on 25th August, which will also be in the range of Rs. 2,000/-.
